Dave was an outstanding engineer and friend. his expertise in mechanical engineering, his knowledge of mining practice, and his willingness to share that knowledge made him an asset to all who worked for and with him. Dace had a 42-year career in engineering with Bucyrus, and he was instrumental in the founding of the original Bucyrus Museum through his unofficial role of company historian and curator. Dave passed away on Nov. 27, 2010, at the age of 65 of brain cancer.
This photo was taken in the Bucyrus Heritage Museum as it prepared to open to the public for the first time on January 31, 2009. The museum had previously been open as a private museum for employees, customers, and guests.
